DaimlerChrysler Chooses FirstPAGE Alarm Manager Suite of Products
as its Plant Floor Alarm Notification Standard for North America.
|
|

|
London, Ontario, October,
2000
- DaimlerChrysler has standardized on NETCON's FirstPAGE suite of
alarm notification and wireless messaging software. All of the car
manufacturer's 45 North American assembly plants will now use no other
wireless messaging products. Twenty plants already use
FirstPAGE
exclusively, and the remaining 25 plants will soon be similarly
equipped.
Given the high number of personnel employed at DaimlerChrysler's plants, a
centralized, automated plant communications system is essential. Staff must
be kept informed of operational status to prevent costly delays and
inefficiencies. Because of NETCON's past experience in plant floor
communications, DaimlerChrysler chose it to provide a complete solution.

These products provide significant improvements in alarm notification
reliability, capacity and efficiency.
Because it was developed to meet specific industry needs, FirstPAGE
Server can manage an unlimited number of alarms. Immediate notification is
sent to appropriate personnel regarding the type and location of problems.
And five levels of escalation in the alarm process ensure that no alarm is
ever forgotten. With its flexible notification capability, FirstPAGE
Alarm Manager can notify employees via numeric and alphanumeric pagers,
digital cellular/PCS phones and virtually any other wireless messaging
device. For the convenience of system administrators, dynamic alarm lists
mean that lists are always up-to-date. No retyping or altering information
is necessary.

The Results
|
|
|
|
The FirstPAGE suite was integrated seamlessly with DaimlerChrysler's
existing plant automation system to provide enterprise-wide alarm
notification and messaging capability. With their in-house paging terminals,
DaimlerChrysler's plants no longer rely on modems for plant communication.
FirstPAGE efficiently manages from 700 to 3000 pagers per plant and
provides maximum system control.
