London, Ontario, August 17, 2001 - NETCON
announced the release of a new version of
FirstPAGE Server
with support for SNPP (Simple Network Paging Protocol). This new
release allows FirstPAGE Server to support service providers
who offer the SNPP as an input method. With the extensive use of
internet connectivity in today's corporate
environment this addition is the evolution in connectivity in paging
systems.
Providing high speed internet connectivity, the SNPP protocol allows
much faster communications with external paging companies as
dedicated internet connections replace dialup modem connections.
Currently running in all DaimlerChrysler assembly plants, this new
version of FirstPAGE Server can open up connectivity to
paging companies formerly only accessible via slow dial-up async.
modem.
Those customers which maintain a Platinum Support contract may
receive free upgrades. Customers on Extended Support may upgrade at
a discounted rate. Please
contact our sales or support
departments with any upgrade inquiries.
