FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESeQent announces that Ford Motor Company is in the process of enhancing their Paging Infrastructure for their North American Operations London, ON - January 17, 2011 - SeQent (http://www.SeQent.com), a hardware solution provider for one-way paging systems and the leading provider of innovative real-time Automated Messaging, Visual Display Management and Wireless Kanban software solutions announced today that Ford Motor Company is in the process of replacing their old Motorola Nucleus paging transmitters in their North American plants. The one-way paging infrastructure consists of a paging terminal and multiple paging transmitters depending upon the size of the plant along with alphanumeric pagers. These systems are deemed production critical, which is why Ford Motor Company elected to fund this project. SeQent is in the process of replacing the transmitters in both their Assembly and Powertrain plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico. “SeQent originally installed these systems over 15 years ago and they have proven to be the most reliable method for getting automated alarms and events to the staff who address them. I would conservatively estimate that some of the larger Ford assembly plants have seen several hundred million transactions flow through the system – talk about ROI” said Scott Burns, Founder and CTO of SeQent. SeQent is a leading provider of hardware and software solutions that accelerate the decision making process enabling companies to improve plant productivity and quality increasing plant floor visibility and ultimately profitability. The SeQent Real-Time Decision Support (RTDS) solution is a transformational and modular based technology platform. This solution utilizes a logic/rules based engine that manages the lifecycle of an alarm and/or event, ensuring the incident has been resolved. The Automated Messaging, Visual Display Management and Wireless Kanban modules send alarm and event information to mobile phones, pagers, PDA's, LED & LCD displays, sounder devices, stack lights as well as Motorola TEAM VoWLAN smartphones and MOTOTRBO two-way radios.
